Are you Looking for Great Internet Sites to Enhance you Math Curriculum?

A great resource to math educators is the South Dakota Education Website. (www.sdedweb.com).

Patricia Briunsma

EdWeb has websites that have been reviewed and rated by teachers around South Dakota in order to help other educators, students, and parents find resources quickly and effortlessly.  It can sort and list sites that cover material to reach certain curriculum standards in a variety of curriculum areas, sites that pertain to different themes, and sites that are safe for kids to explore and interact with.  I enjoy this site because it gives me the option to look for sit3es that will connect with the standards and objectives I am working with.  Super resource for all!

About the South Dakota EdWeb

Educators
The Curriculum section is built on three types of searches:  technical standards, curriculum, and keywords.  The links within these searches have been correlated with the South Dakota Content Standards.  Search results will yield links to lesson plans, on-line activities, and resources to assist educators in the teaching and learning process associated with the knowledge and skills that the state as a whole wants students to master.  Our goal is to create a "Top 5" list in each area resulting in 15 instructional resources for each content standard.

The Administration section is designed to  index web sites that promote best practices and support educators within all areas K-12 schools.  Links within this section include, but are not limited to professional development, school improvement, research, mentoring and teacher tools.

Students
The Student section is designed to provide safe, on-line learning opportunities for K-12 students.  The site is built on two types of searches, one that will allow students to search for information based on subject are/ or grade level, and another that allows students to search the site based on their own keyword entries.

Parents
The Parent section is designed to index web sites that promote best practices and support parents within all areas of child rearing.  Links within this section include, but are not limited to growth and development, ask the experts, and health and safety issues.  This section, unlike the others, will address infants and toddlers as well as school-age children.
